Over the eastern part of the Płw. Scandinavian and the Baltic Sea Basin will be vast and de*p within the next 24 hours. On New Year's Tuesday, its atmospheric fronts will pas* through Poland, bringing rainfall to rain and snow. Behind the cold front of the system, much colder Arctic sea air will flow into Poland. During the period of validity of the prognosis, the wind in the lower part of the troposphere over Poland is predicted to be quite strong due to a significant barometric gradient. In the higher parts of the troposphere the wind will initially be also strong, but in the first part of the night from Tuesday to Wednesday will significantly weaken. In the area of ​​the cool atmospheric front in the central troposphere, quite strong forced air rise is forecasted, hence, in spite of very small CAPE energy values, the development of convective cell systems bringing atmospheric discharges is predicted. Probably a linear convection system will appear along the cool atmospheric front. However, this layout may be discontinuous, and perhaps a few smaller layouts may appear. The strongest development of convection is forecasted in the afternoon and evening hours in the western and southern parts of the country and there is the greatest probability of atmospheric discharges. Convection systems will generate strong but short-term rain, hail, snow crush, and in places. Over the next day, due to the strong advection of Arctic sea air, further zones of strong convective precipitation are predicted. Local storms are still not excluded, especially in Eastern Pomerania and Żuławy.
