Morningstar dives into themed ETFs, a strongly growing category that has very specific characteristics. After the interpretation of what makes them attractive and the place they earn in the investment portfolio, this time we look at their returns. Looking up borders often means taking on risks. Many investors are familiar with investing in emerging markets, but much less with frontier markets. The perception is that the less developed a country is, the riskier it is investing. However, this does not necessarily have to be the case for frontier markets, because they offer a number of attractive risk characteristics. Investors must, however, be aware that the composition of the frontier market group is not stable.
