The Brighton Believes Outstanding Character Awards are presented to people who exemplify the five character traits highlighted in the Thank you for your response to the recent Thought Exchange regarding safety at Brighton High School and more specifically, about BPD foot patrols. We received a significant amount of feedback and are very excited to be sharing the information with you today. During their visit, the Israeli teachers observed clas*es, received a presentation about the District from Superintendent Dr. Kevin McGowan, and received a tour of Twelve Corners Middle School and Brighton High School. The event featured coffee and cookies served by the Brighton Your Day Café students and musical performances by the Crazy Pitches, a BHS. FRIENDS OF RACHEL COLLECTS CLOTHING AND TOILETRIES FOR OPEN DOOR MISSION. Brighton High School’s Friends of Rachel club made a large donation of women’s and children’s clothing and toiletries to the Open Door Mission for their Coldwater Women and Children Residential House. The high school collected 19 boxes and five bags of clothing along with seven boxes of toiletries. The club also collected 12 boxes and bags from Twelve Corners Middle School. Brighton Central School District held its second annual New Family Reception on Nov. 26. Families that are new to Brighton were invited In October, Brighton High School was one of 349 schools across the country to receive a National Blue Ribbon School Award for 2018 from the U.S. Department of Education. It is one of the highest honors any school can receive. Brighton High School’s staff and students officially received the award at a school celebration on Dec. 7.
