This novel follows the adventures of a young gi*l, Flora Buckman and her superhero squirrel, Ulysses. The story is full of humorous and Flora Belle Buckman is a young gi*l with an outrageous imagination. She witnesses a squirrel getting su*ked into a vacuum and after saving his life, she befriends him and his superhero powers. DiCamillo creates characters that readers can not only relate too but can truly enjoy getting to know through the pages. Readers will fall in love with Flora’s quirky personality and laugh at her escapades. The black and white illustrations that are intertwined throughout the book give the reader a visual insight into the antics of Flora and her discussed in the novel and are areas that some readers can personally identify with.
