Monitoring and Reporting The Monitoring and Reporting unit is responsible for: The work on development of EMIS was initiated in 1384 (2005), however, a functional EMIS only became possible in 1386 (2007) after conducting the yearly school survey. The Directorate undertakes Annual School Census (ASC), and is also responsible for collecting, storing, processing and disseminating statistical data. Moreover, it is responsible for developing information systems and monitoring and reporting against NESP indicators. The vision for an integrated EMIS system is given in National Educational Strategic Plan (NESP) that foresees a system that facilitates access to information by all stakeholders through an effective information sharing mechanism at national and sub-national (Provincial, District & School) levels.
