When we were in Japan, we could not get over the thoughtfulness and intention put into everyday objects and rituals, said The Citizenry co-founder Carly Nance.From tea ceremonies to zen gardens for meditation, there is an elevated appreciation for quiet moments and simple beauty. In the midst of our own hectic lives, we wanted to bring those feelings to the forefront. The Japanese-inspired furniture collection includes various hand-crafted wooden pieces that will add a soothing feeling to your bathroom, bedroom, and living area. The furniture in this collection is created from Japanese hinoki cypress, a wood used for centuries to construct spas and temples because it smells amazing, said The Citizenry's product design director Haley Seidel. Fun fact: the smell gets even better when the wood is wet, so it was the perfect material for this zen, spa-inspired collection. Curious to see more?
