I am excited to begin another year together. Our theme for the 2018-2019 school year is Tiger Family: Belong, Believe, Become. Our goal is for all Tigers to feel a sense of belonging, believe in themselves, and work together to achieve their goals. We are invested in the success and educational experience of every student and exhibit this by creating high expectations in a nurturing environment. As we enter our 85th year, we look to honor our rich history while embracing a culture of innovation and advancement. I would like to take a moment to share with you the recent success of our Valencia Academy: International Baccalaureate (IB) and Valencia Technology (Val Tech). This past year our IB program graduated a record-breaking 78 IB diploma recipients. Our Val Tech program continues to thrive with 79 Val Tech diploma recipients and a growing number of impressive internship opportunities afforded to our students. In addition, we offer an impressive combination of over 50 Advanced Placement and IB courses on our campus with a policy of Our nationally recognized AVID program continues to propel our school wide college readiness system. We were fortunate to host visits from schools from Southern California and Australia this past year and look forward to this year’s visits as well.  We will continue to embrace engaging instructional strategies and a school wide culture of support. We also continue to offer robust Career Technical Education opportunities for students who are preparing for their post-secondary career pursuits in Education and Child Development, Building and Construction Trades, and Culinary Arts. Students are able to gain hands-on experience and knowledge in the pathways of their choice. In addition, our English Learner and Special Education programs are taking on new heights as we move forward with integration and inclusion.
