jamie, the rubber duck accompanies me everywhere since a few weeks. i speak with unknown people, go to places i have not visited for a. long time, ask if i can take photos of jamie at unusual places...  i perceive the environment differently. . what i learned this week:  it slows down my everyday life, makes me more relaxed and gives me. through jamie's eyes i discover beautiful and unusual things (and people) that i've not seen or ignored for a long time. . and jamie gives me back my lost confidence! it was carnival here last week, with a carnival parade. . many people were there besides the streets, waiting for the parade. . we walked down the street, in the middle of the road, in the direction of the parade. . all eyes were on us!  last year this would have been a situation where i would quickly have. gone aside, hiding in the crowd.  but not at this time! . when i realized that everyone was staring at us, i lifted up my head, took a de*p breath and had to smile! unbelievable.. it felt so good!  it reminded me that i had no problems to stand in the public long. we asked and jamie was on nearly every vehicle of the parade. all people were smiling when we asked - i think most of them at jamie, but. some of them because they thought i was crazy or drunk.  but i don't care!. the time i was hiding myself in my apartment,  hiding my body under further clothes when i left the apartment, is.
